Hi I'm FORDBOYpete & I am an Aero-holic. I wrote a long submission previously to give y'all some background on me. BUT. . . When I submitted, it disappeared ina black hole .
So this is short & to the point. I own, know, like, build, rescue & drive late Aeros.
I take parts from Older Aeros like the Headlight Upgrade where I swap plastic, Hi Dollar, Halogen System, Headlamps that "haze" & grow dim over time, for older earlier conventional Sealed beam style setup.
Then I install Halogen Sealedbeams and Presto! I get trouble free halogen illumination that stays bright & sharp and is easily ajusted for years. It is also a mere $8 per bulb rather than $18 each. AND I can touch them with my bare hands & they don't burn out. . . . . .
I came here from another site because I am Aerofied, I have a 93 & a 95. Both are XLTNs, with 4'0L V6 Cologne Engines. 1 is AWD 4X4, The Other is a 4X2 with regular RWD. Both are over 200K miles. AWD is on it's 3rd Transfer case & that just scattered. I posted some Pix in Photo Forum if you want to see them. I get offers from people who want to buy them all the time. I won't sell my 95, it is the 4X2 and 2+2 also, with all those rear cabin creature comforts.
Many people in traffic have learned not all "Mom Soccer Vans" are slow and sloppy handling. Some were truly shocked arriving at that epiphany by the might of that strong 95 Aerostar. It's faster in a 1/4 mi with 14" tires, but on the highway it's tall, and it strolls. If I behave I get a tad over 22mpg with 15's on it.
I hope we see others here plentiful & soon. The world needs to have access to a Great Aero Website, this can well be it.
