Electrical short

Well, this is kinda related to my Aerostar, and it is totally unexpected.  We were taking my mom's Aerostar to the shop to have a strange problem diagnosed that was causing it to be difficult to start and causing an intermittent stall issue.  So my sister was following in my van.  Anyway, I arrived at the shop, only to get a call that mine had stalled (I thought it must of run low on fuel since it was low at the time.)  Come to find out that even with fuel in wouldn't start and the fuel pump was not running.  We towed it tot eh same shop that was going to work on my mom's van.  They call me later that day to tell me there is a short somewhere on the main circuit that powers the ECU and fuel pump, and that the fusible link was blown and immediately blows any replacement link.

So, the shop was not able to trace the short that day, they are supposed to get in touch with me on Monday with the specific location of the short.

Anyway, just kind of a sad fluke, that the vehicle that was having issues actually ran pretty well and made it to the shop, and the reliable vehicle had a random electrical failure that for now has killed it outright.
